Collateral Relief Clinics

Many of your clients have trouble finding employment, housing, and other resources after their cases are completed and are plagued by criminal records – you can help them leave this behind.

The Colorado legal community has a unique ability to assist our clients move on with their lives and become productive contributors to society. Please volunteer a few pro-bono hours to help with sealing, expungement, sex offender de-registration, and orders of collateral relief.

A free 5-credit CLE will be offered to volunteers – you will learn everything you need to know about how to help clients escape the collateral consequences of prior criminal convictions. Homestudy materials will be provided. Sign up today and make a difference in someone’s life!

Volunteer attorneys will be required to:

  1. Attend or watch a recording of CCDI’s collateral relief training CLE.
  2. Commit to taking at least one collateral relief case through completion, including a hearing if necessary.
  3. Regularly communicate status of case to CCDI staff.

As a volunteer, you will receive:

  1. Free 4 credit CLE training + CLE credit for pro-bono hours.
  2. Paralegal assistance on the pro-bono case from a CCDI contractor.
  3. If desired, your name will be included on a referral list for paying or sliding-scale collateral relief clients.
